Jarboe String Quartet

Instrumentation: Cello, Viola, Two Violins; Violin/Viola Duo or Solo Violinist also available.

Quartet or Violin/Viola Duo:

A multi-faceted perfomer, John Jarboe holds Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from Pittsburg State University of Pittsburg, Kansas. He has studied violin with Markwood Holmes, Merton Shatzkin while at PSU and Henri Temianka while a graduate student at California State College in Long Beach. For fifteen years Mr. Jarboe was a violinist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and has also performed with symphonies on both coasts, Nashville, Tennessee, and throughout Arkansas. Mr. Jarboe is also a published Nashville songwriter.

Some suggested quartet pieces for weddings are:

Seating of mothers:
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach
Used often, very beautiful and suited to this part of the ceremony.
Other choices:
Schubert's "Ave Maria"
Bach's "Sheep May Safely Graze," or "Air (on G string)"

Bridesmaids:
"Rondo" by Mouret,
"Canon in D" by Pachelbel (very popular at weddings and occasionally used for bride's processional)
"Panis Angelicus' by Franck

Processional:
"Bridal Chorus" by Wagner (Here Comes the Bride)
"Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell
"Trumpet Tune" by Clarke

Recessional (upbeat and celebratory):
"Wedding March" by Mendelssohn (very traditional)
Other options include
"Allegro Maestoso" by Handel
"Allelulia" by Mozart

Fiddler on the Hoof - Strolling Violin

Book Mr. Jarboe as a solo strolling violinist playing classical and Gypsy music for a birthday or anniversary dinner, business after-hours event, or black-tie mixer. Also available with an accordion player for the full Gypsy effect!
